Introducing Me
My name is Alba Nydia. I live in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I’m currently a student in UPR Río Piedras, and I’m studying Comparative Literature. I speak four languages: English, Spanish, Italian and sarcasm, which is obviously not a language but close enough. My family is one of the most important things in my life. I love them to death, even if they act a little crazy sometimes and drive me up a wall. I've been a dog lover, since I can recall, and I am the proud owner of two boxer dogs: Stella and Lucca. My interests are the best way to get to know me, and—as I have recently discovered—they haven’t changed that much since I was a kid. Music and I have been best buds since I can recall, as well, and my taste has only evolved as time keeps passing by. My dad was the one who inadvertently began to teach me about different types of music. This evolved into my wide range of taste in music from rock to Top 40 songs, folk, country and so on. However, my love of music goes beyond this, since I have recently discovered I really like musicals. Yes, Broadway and West End called, and I had to answer. The seed was Disney and their Renaissance era, song-filled movies. I enjoy watching TV, especially if it’s smart, funny and witty; the more pop culture references, the better. There’s a reason why Gilmore Girls is my favorite TV show! Literature is another world for me. I love diving into a good book and transport myself anywhere from the streets of London alongside Oliver Twist to getting into trouble with Huck and Tom. I write almost daily, and one of my dreams is to write a novel.
I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.
